Tropical cyclone Frances formed in the Arafura Sea on 28 April 2017 to the north west of Darwin. TC Frances traveled west before developing into a category 3 system and then turning towards the
south. On 29 April Frances had decayed into a category 2 tropical cyclone. The system is forecast to stay at sea and continue to move south westerly before decaying into a tropical low. There is
currently no particular threat to the mainland.
